I can't be the first one to notice that what @Jerod Santo calls the "(un)ordered list of links" is actually a set since he's never repeated a single item
You may be giving me too much credit by assuming I wouldn't be lured in by the same thing twice
(Somebody should vibe code up an "(un)ordered list of links" dupe checker)
Relatedly, I've noticed in my text communications that I use bullet points alot, but shuffling would confuse the point I'm trying to make
So, perhaps I do need to use numbered/ordered lists more often
Something about an ordered list feels so much more formal though
@Ron Waldon-Howe there's a difference between ordered and numbered, so you're good
But it'd be so nice to remove a concept from my brain and just make them the same :P
The REAL reason that @Adam Stacoviak is so nice to his LLMs
Stop being so nice to your LLMs! :rolling_on_the_floor_laughing: https://futurism.com/altman-please-thanks-chatgpt
Has anyone heard of guestpodcaststoday.com ?
I got an email from them asking if I'd like to be a guest on a podcast they work with, but it seemed a little… odd.
I mean I just went to the website and it redirects to something odd... and the template has way too much animation in it so I'm not sure if I trust it :joy:
 that was my attempt at a reply to the previous message. I'm still getting used to Zulip :see_no_evil:
Yeah I had to click around a bit to get going
Hello, everyone!.
I am going through campus placements. One of the requirements listed in the job description was TDD. May assigned us an assessment task based on it.
As a rookie, I don't have much expertise with TDD, preferring to create first and then test after .
I assumed I'd ask here because you folks seem to have more real-world experience: do you have any thoughts on TDD basics or ideas for good resources?
I'm not worried or anything; I just want to be prepared in case something comes up.
Thank you:folded_hands:.

Its older, but have you read the Kent Beck book on it? I'd check that out. From a high level in SDLC you take the user stories and build the unit tests around those then build the functionality to pass the tests.
TDD is one of those things I really ought to do but don't. The basic notion is simple. When you are writing some code how do you know when you are done? You write some code and you test it manually over and over again. Why not write the test first and code until it passes?
I'm not disciplined at all about this, but occasionally I'll even start with the documentation first, then write the test that supports what is documented, and then write the code
I'm not religious about TDD but I do like to use it to:
When I'm building out some new functionality I don't use TDD as much. Really when I'm patching things.
Anyone want to go on my family roadtrip so that I can go check out the live show? https://changelog.com/live
A message was moved here from #general > Zulip by Jarvis.

While I do love the changelog, you have yourself a deal sir! When and where do we meet? (Just kidding)
anyone else using apple podcasts and notice this?image_A351E6F3-C11E-40EE-A1EE-E0F928C0DA6E_1751886205.jpeg
We had the publish date wrong when it went out. We also had the audio wrong when it went out. So I'd delete the June 27th one if I were you and go with the newer one :sunglasses:
Should we have a "vibe coding" or AI focused channel? I guess there is practical AI but that's for discussing the podcast episodes right?

share ideas and discuss on it.
I was also thinking about, that. We can share new Ai Tools and news too.
Now to bike shed the channel name :P
There is a topic called AI Shenanigans. Sounds like a great name.
For the Denver meetup with weekend, I can't make the event on Saturday, but i can hang out on Friday night for drinks. Is there a spot to sign up, or do I just show up?

I gotta say I love the ~10 minute news format lol :) Thanks @Jerod Santo
Yes, the meet up will be open invite. So just show up. Although it would be nice to have some version of an RSVP just so we know.
Speaking of saturday, how hard is this hike gonna be?

Did you guys see this crazy PR to OpenCut? The most impressive part is how CodeRabbit is responding to everything... it's like, really decent. What is real anymore
https://github.com/OpenCut-app/OpenCut/pull/47
Did have a quick search but couldn’t find anything, has Bill Hall the creator of Odin been considered as a guest before? Switched to using Odin recently for writing a Risc-v toy OS and know he has some pretty interesting opinions on language design and software in general.
