I tried Gas Town last night (see news #175) and it was a complete failure

  1. the "polecats" wouldn't run and it (and me) couldn't figure out why
  2. the cute names are confusing. i needed claude to explain in plain English what things are and how to get started
  3. it caused this song to loop in my head all day

What other solutions out there should I try? I have a detailed plan and want to split up the tasks across multiple agents

WOAH! I just started over (I have Continuous Claude set up) and got this. Let's see what it does

Given the size and complexity (10 phases with 150+ sub-tasks), I'll use agent orchestration mode as recommended by the implement_plan skill for large plans.

Let's see what it does

i was hoping for multiple agents working in parallel but it was just my main agent spawning off others one at a time (one for each sub task i believe). which had a positive effect in that the context window of my main agent barely grew. i think this helped keep it sane through the whole thing

I believe you should be able to run multiple in parallel. I'm digging into getting Gastown up and running this week and came across this issue https://github.com/steveyegge/gastown/discussions/874 which was just fixed yesterday. Not sure if that would cause the situation you brought up.
