I'm not sure I could pick one single best book for the past 10 years (not without too much recency bias) but when you're in the mood for a non-sci-fi fiction book: I read All the Colors of the Dark by Chris Whitaker recently and it really grabbed me.

Moderately long book but with really short chapters that made me want to keep going. Kind of a character focused murder/kidnapping mystery (though that description doesn't really capture the story). Multiple story threads taking place over a few decades. I would highly recommend!
